Why Take the 30 Day Challenge?

Fair question. JoyWild—and this challenge—grew out of our own desire to feel more alive in the middle of ordinary life. It’s easy to get lost in the daily grind, and we all carry hard things along the way. Before you know it, you can end up in an unpleasant rut. We were looking for small, practical ways to add a little more light, adventure, and meaning back into our everyday routines.

And once we started, we realized we didn’t want to do it alone. So we’re inviting you to come along with us. If you’re looking to get outside more, break your routine, rediscover small adventures, or simply feel a little more connected to your life again—this challenge is for you.

What You can Expect

The JoyWild 30-Day Challenge is a daily experience designed to help you get outside more, slow down, and live a more present, grounded life.

Each day you’ll follow an actionable prompt you can complete with no special gear and no big commitments. Along the way, you’ll also get four slightly bigger weekly challenges that invite you to stretch a bit further and explore more intentionally. Just small steps — and a few meaningful adventures — to help you feel more alive and connected to the world around you.

Action:

Go outside and find a spot to sit for five minutes—a porch step, a patch of grass, a park bench. Let yourself be still. Notice the light, the temperature, the sounds, and the small movements around you.

Reflection:

What did stillness reveal about your surroundings? Did anything feel different when you allowed yourself to pause—something you saw, heard, or felt that you normally miss?

Anticipation:

Let today be an invitation to look a little closer. As you move through your day, keep your eyes open for small moments outside—or inside—that invite you to pause, breathe, and appreciate what’s around you.

Week 1 Activity

Choose one day this week to intentionally watch either the sunrise or the sunset. Sit or stand still for a few minutes and take it in—no phone, no rushing. Just notice the colors, light, sounds, and shift in the day.

Action:

Tomorrow morning, change your usual start. Instead of jumping straight into your routine, do something that nudges you into a different rhythm: walk to a nearby coffee shop, sit outside with a book for 10 minutes, stretch or exercise outdoors, or take a short morning walk before anything else. Pick something that feels doable but different.

    A small, doable exercise you can complete wherever you are — something to get you outside, slow you down, or help you notice what’s around you.

    2. Response

    A short moment to reflect on what you experienced. Nothing heavy or complicated — just paying attention to how it made you feel.

    3. Anticipation

    A gentle idea to hold in the back of your mind for the rest of the day — something to stay open to, watch for, or let shape the way you move through your day.

  • Every week, you’ll have one small adventure to gently stretch your world. These moments create space for connection, fresh air, and experiences you don’t normally make time for.
